We are back with another 'My Sustainable Home' interview and this time we caught up with Rachel, who has one of the most beautiful home interiors Instagram feeds we have seen!

What influenced you to start creating a sustainable home?
Having a large family and seeing the bin fill with plastic bottles is disheartening, more so during the lock down period with the children being home. Scrolling through eco cleaning pages I stumbled upon Bower Collective and loved the look of these products and thought it was amazing that you could send the packaging back to be reused.

What were the first changes that you made when cutting plastic waste from your home?
Rather than buying the usual plastic kitchen cleaning sprays from the supermarket I opted for the Bower Collective floor & Surface cleaner which I water down and dispense into glass spray bottles. I use a Marseille soap bar For the dishes using a traditional wooden pot brush, the soap is stored in a olive wooden dish. I recently purchased bamboo straws for the children so we don’t throw away plastic straws.

Rather than buying watery brands of detergents from supermarkets opt for the laundry detergent and fabric conditioners that you can decant into reusable bottles. Bower collective offer the perfect solution. My bin doesn’t fill up as quick with the dreaded plastic bottles.

What is your favourite Bower Collective product and why?
The floor and surface cleaner is the ultimate winner, a little goes a long way. The smell is beautiful and cleans amazingly.
